Our Story

Our journey started in 2014 as a dream to change the system, to build a path towards a holistic sustainable model.

OneEarth is a culmination of our thoughts and work from over a decade in the field of Environmental Engineering and social development coming together in 2023 as a cohesive physical entity.

We are a group of passionate young professionals who have turned years of personal and professional friendship into what we now know as OneEarth Foundation.

Implementing Circular Model

Transformation through circular solutions

We focus on initiatives aimed at addressing the challenge of ocean-bound plastic waste management. Our approach involves bridging the gap by implementing a circular model that repurposes waste as a valuable resource, thereby preventing it from ending up in landfills or oceans. Through our pioneering circular model, we convert low-value plastics into functional products, thereby promoting environmental sustainability and instigating systemic change. This approach enables us to effectively manage waste locally, achieve self-sufficiency, and minimize waste loss during transportation.

Nature Based Solutions

Solutions are rooted in Earth’s Wisdom

We understand the crucial role of mangrove ecosystems and are developing models to involve local communities to amplify mangrove plantation and protect existing mangroves. Empowering communities, especially women, through awareness programs on the socio-economic benefits of mangrove cultivation is integral to our approach.

IEC & Behaviour Change

Empowering Minds, Transforming Actions

Our Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) initiatives are a catalyst for change, igniting awareness and action towards sustainable living. Through dynamic engagements, we champion proper waste management practices and advocate for a circular lifestyle, nurturing a profound shift towards positive climate action. From educational institutions to local fishing communities and resident groups, we’ve reached out extensively, planting seeds of understanding and collaboration. we’ve extended our outreach extensively, reaching out to more than 30 educational institutes across Goa and engaging with 10 fishing villages.

Climate Education

Climate Education through STEAM Innovation

Develop knowledge products and workshops that blend classroom learning with real-world experiences. Our modules integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) to provide a holistic understanding to children and individuals. We focus on students aged 9-15 years and aim to expand our reach in the coming years, particularly prioritizing government schools. Our workshops are being formalized to align with CSR mandates for impact measurement and to help schools track student progress effectively.

Our Projects

Drive Against Plastic Pollution

A collaborative campaign combating plastic pollution and promoting sustainability. In 30 days: 59 workshops, 120 km covered, 1146 kg waste collected, and 1250 individuals sensitised. The campaign was supported by Quest2Travel.

Rural WASH Partners’ Forum

In collaboration with Center for Environment Education (CEE) we are jointly working in state of Goa across various themes under the SBM-G 2.0 and JJM 2.0, under the RWPF program of the Ministry of Jal Shakti.

16-Way Segregation

Facilitating the implementation of the world’s first 16-way dry waste segregation system in Panaji.

Sustainable Shores

Funded by MakeMyTrip Foundation, our project adopts a Goan beach for sustainable waste management and coastal conservation initiatives.

Our case study on “Mitigating Plastic Waste in Coastal Ecosystems Through Education and Circular Economy Innovation” was recognised and published in the Indian Sanitation Coalition’s flagship publication- Business of Change Series 2023. The publication was unveiled at the India Sanitation Coalition-FICCI Sanitation Awards and India Sanitation Conclave held on November 20, 2023, at the FICCI Federation House.
